I had a great experience taking Mike Phillips’ 2-Day Auto Detailing Class. Getting hands-on education from a legend in the detailing industry was an incredible opportunity.

What I appreciated most was that there was no sitting through PowerPoint presentations or practicing on a random hood. From the very beginning, it was hands-on, working on some really cool cars and learning the process in a real-world environment.

Mike is extremely knowledgeable, detail-oriented, and systematic in the way he teaches. He explains not only what to do, but also how and why to approach each step.

The days are packed with learning and hands-on work. Mike is there early around 7 AM, and the class goes until around 5 PM. We were so focused on the work that even lunch was basically a quick standing break before getting right back to it.

The hands-on experience was definitely the best part of the class. I left with a much better understanding of paint correction, a stronger foundation, and more confidence in applying what I learned.

If you’re serious about improving your paint correction skills, I highly recommend learning from someone with Mike’s experience and knowledge.

As someone who is new to the polishing side of detailing, I have always heard that polishing can be challenging and that one small mistake can lead to expensive repairs. However, after taking Mike’s class, I learned that once you have guidance from a professional and get hands on experience, it’s a skill you can master.

Mike’s class isn’t a typical detail class. He lets you do the work and guides you along the way. I learned a lot and now feel confident to take on polishing and ceramic coating. I would 100% recommend taking his class if you are interested in learning how to master the art of polishing!

20 stars if I could give them! 🌟

I recently completed the 2-Day Automotive Detailing Class at Dr. Beasley’s with Mike Phillips, and what an incredible experience!

Mike’s knowledge, passion, and dedication to the detailing industry are truly unmatched. He doesn’t just show you how to do something; he takes the time to explain why you’re doing it and makes sure you understand every step of the process.

The hands-on training was outstanding! Throughout the two days, I gained valuable knowledge and experience in:

* Show car detailing
* 2-step and 1-step paint correction
* Ceramic coating installation
* Hand wet sanding and machine dry sanding
* Rotary polisher techniques
* Topical glass polishing* Wheel and tire detailing
* Chrome polishing

Getting firsthand instruction from someone with Mike’s experience was invaluable. I walked away with new techniques, a better understanding of the detailing process, and even more confidence in my abilities.

As the owner of Pelican Pointe Detailing, I believe investing in proper training is essential. No matter how long you’ve been in this industry, there’s always something new to learn.

I was so impressed with Mike and the entire experience that I fully intend to send my future employees to train with him as well. That’s how much I believe in the quality of this program.

Thank you, Mike Phillips, and the entire Dr. Beasley’s team for an incredible two days of training. I’m proud to have earned my certification and look forward to putting everything I’ve learned into practice.

If you’re serious about professional detailing and want to take your skills to the next level, this is the class to take!Highly recommend! 💪🚗🌟

Mike’s 2 day class is a must for anyone in the detailing business. He added a bonus day for deep polishing glass - a skill not many have - at no additional charge. Mike shares his lifetime of tips, tricks & success secrets as well as working with a variety of tools to expand everyone’s experience & comfort level with new tools.

Mikes class is hands-on, hard work and everyone participates and by end of day one, starts working as a team to complete projects. Additional bonus was learning Mikes technique to recondition oxidized headlight lenses enhancing clarity & function.

Mike also shares his depth of knowledge and experience about high quality products that perform and provide great visual results your client will recognize. Do yourself & your clients a favor and sign up for this workshop, it will payback in time saving skills, techniques and product quality.

Mike, thanks for a great weekend of training. I came to learn paint correction and wet sanding and got exactly that—plus a lot more. The hands-on instruction was excellent, but what stood out was the bigger-picture stuff: how you qualify opportunities, present your brand, organize your shop, and create content. I left with better technical skills and a list of actionable ideas for my own business. Well worth the investment.

This was excellent training! More value than I expected and well worth the investment. I highly recommend it to anyone that wants to learn how to perfect paint care, enhancement and coatings among other things. Mike is an expert in his field and loves to share to help others. He is high energy the entire class. You will work on some amazing cars to help get more comfortable on the real thing, not some small sample.

We restored 6 cars in 2 days and learned the art of wet and dry sanding and then restoring a showroom finish. Mike cuts through a lot of the confusing information you might find online and shows you what works quickly without damaging a vehicle. Ceramic coating prep and application was also very helpful. I would take this class again and suggest it to anyone considering it.

The value of this two-day class far exceeds its cost. Whether you’re brand-new to polishing or a seasoned professional, there is something here for everyone. If you’re a beginner, taking this class early in your career can save you countless hours of trial and error. You’ll learn how to properly use different types of polishers, understand the purpose of each one, apply the correct techniques, and follow industry best practices.

Instead of trying to piece everything together on your own or relying solely on how-to videos, you’ll begin with a strong foundation and the confidence to do things correctly from the start. Even if you already have experience with free-spinning DAs, forced-rotation polishers, or rotary machines, this class is still incredibly valuable. It provides new techniques, processes, and insights that will help refine your skills and enable you to deliver the most efficient, high-quality paint-correction service possible to your customers.

I would recommend this class to any colleague interested in expanding their knowledge of paint correction. The hands-on experience and one-on-one guidance you receive from Mike are difficult to find anywhere else.

I also highly recommend recording as much of the class as possible with a camera or phone. Mike shares an incredible amount of information each day, and it can be difficult to remember thag large amount of new information once the class is over.

If you’re considering making the investment but are concerned about the value, don’t be. This class is well worth both your money and your time.

Friday Glass Polishing Class

This is a free/bonus class you can attend when you take our 2-day class here in Stuart, Florida. Because I normally bring in a wide variety of cars, including classics and muscle cars, a lot of these vehicles, due to their age, have a lot of WIPER SCRATCHES plus the normal swirls and scratches from abuse over the decades. Because I have all the training cars here BEFORE the class starts, we invite anyone taking the actual class on Saturday and Sunday, to arrange their travel schedules to be here for the Friday glass polishing class.

Saturday

7:30 AM — ROTARY POLISHERS ARE ALREADY SPINNING! 😎

Think I’m kidding when I say we start early and we start ON TIME?

Check the watch. 7:30 AM.

And we’re not sitting in chairs drinking coffee and watching a PowerPoint presentation.

We’re already HANDS-ON!

First thing Saturday morning, my students are learning how to use rotary polishers with wool cutting pads to cut the paint HARD on a 1965 Corvette Stingray!

And there’s a reason we start with the rotary FIRST.

For many of the people who attend my classes, this is their first time using a rotary polisher.

The next day, this same class is going to hand wet sand and machine dry sand the fresh paint on a 1969 Plymouth Roadrunner to remove orange peel and level the paint.

After sanding the paint flat, they’ll need to use rotary polishers with wool pads to remove 100% of the sanding marks.

That’s NOT the time to learn how to use a rotary polisher!

So on Saturday morning, I get the rotary polishers into their hands FIRST THING.

  • They learn how the tool feels.
  • They learn how to control it.
  • They learn how to manage a wool pad.
  • They learn how to CUT paint.

And most importantly, they start building real-world experience and confidence before we tackle the much more advanced sanding project the next day.

This is how hands-on training should work.

You learn the skill.
You practice the skill.

Then you put that skill to work.

And you don't learn by watching ME use the tool.

YOU use the tool.

  • On real cars.
  • With real paint.
  • Removing real defects.

No chairs.
ZERO sitting.
No PowerPoint.

We start early.
We start on time.

And at 7:30 AM — we're already MAKING PAINT SHINY! 😎

I'll let the pictures do the rest of the talking...

🔥🔥 TWO ICONIC CARS — TWO TEAMS — ROTARIES SPINNING! 🔥🔥

While half the class is CUTTING HARD on the 1963 Split Window Corvette 🏁, the other half is doing the exact same thing on this 1973 Cuda 340! 💪😎

⚙️ Same rotary polishers
🐑 Same wool cutting pads
🧴 Same products
🔥 Same techniques

And most importantly...

👉 EVERYONE IS HANDS-ON! 👈

There’s no standing around watching the instructor demonstrate how to polish paint.

💥 YOU get the rotary polisher!
💥 YOU get the wool pad!
💥 YOU learn how to control the rotary!
💥 YOU learn how to CUT PAINT!

And there’s a reason we're putting rotary polishers into everyone's hands FIRST THING Saturday morning. ⏰

Because on Sunday...

🚨 WE'RE STEPPING IT UP! 🚨

We're going to HAND WET SAND and MACHINE DRY SAND the fresh paint on a 1969 Plymouth Roadrunner to remove the orange peel and sand the paint FLAT! 😎

And after we sand that paint flat?

🔥 100% OF THOSE SANDING MARKS HAVE TO COME OUT! 🔥

That's where the rotary-polisher skills they're learning TODAY come into play TOMORROW.

👉 Learn it.
👉 Practice it.
👉 USE IT!

And seriously... how cool is it to learn these skills on a 1963 Split Window Corvette AND a 1973 Cuda 340? 🤯🔥🏁

🪑❌ NO CHAIRS!
🛋️❌ ZERO SITTING!
💻❌ NO POWERPOINT!

🔥 REAL CARS. REAL TOOLS. REAL HANDS-ON TRAINING. 🔥

This is how you learn paint correction! 💪😎🏁

Rotary Techniques

This is called - BUFFING OFF AN EDGE - it's a technique where you are able to buff the paint on the edge without burning through the edge as the pad is spinning OFF the edge, not INTO the edge.

Here's Earl using the CORRECT technique for holding a cordless tool and that's by locking the speed lock button and then moving his hand to the back of the tool to support the weight of the battery while also giving him MORE LEVERAGE over the polisher.
