Stretching - Wiping down door hood trunk and hatchback jambs

Almost the exact same way i.e. after the exterior wash and dry and using the damp drying towel. That is on my cars... Client cars, even regular customers who come often and not too bad, get an ONR spray and wipe down with MF towels. They arrive dirtier than my cars. ONR in a spray bottle...

Video: Using the rotary polisher for major paint correction step

Perfect! Thanks Mike. I see exactly what you mean. I just did a test on a practice panel out in the garage. Held a wool pad on my rotary flat and then lifted about 40°. While the "flat" section felt familiar it was much harder on the arms and shoulders. More muscle to control. More muscle...

Video: Using the rotary polisher for major paint correction step

Another superb vid, Mike. Thank you. Just 1 technique question... When I cut with rotary/wool/compound I usually leave my pad flat. I notice you tilt at maybe 30°-45°. Is that to mitigate heat?

Questions about buffing pads for correcting/polishing by machine and hand

Once a coating has had time to fully cure I can't imagine tape residue would cause any issues.

    Impossible carpet

I HATE those trunk/tailgate carpets! A trick i saw on the SkyNet was to vibrate and vacuum. I take my old Porter Cable 7336 and turn it on 6 and apply it to the carpet and it bounces and vibrates the s*** out of the carpet. Vacuum at the same time following the vibration. Yup, it's a 2...

    Using Paintwork Cleansing Lotions

For paint transfers I use Duragloss 501 paint cleaner and a firmer foam pad. My logic is... Paint from hitting something else is sitting on top of the vehicle paint. Yes, there may be scratches with that little rub i'll address later but i first remove the rubbed on paint. My thinking is...

Forced Rotation polisher with wool or microfiber pads

Superb info, Mike. Thank you. I am also a wool or cutting MF on my rotary guy for serious work on harder, hacked up paint. With that said I am looking for a good combo to get similar results using my Flex 3401 to MAYBE get down to a 1 step cut/polish for SOME customers. Just the old "time is...
