I have one. Never used it in practice.

I tried it at SEMA one year for Tom the inventor and it seem to work. I can revisit tomorrow when I'm buffing out this old 2-door Plymouth.

For me, I move fast and I'm not sure I would want the light hanging off any of my polishers, but I like Tom so I'll revisit for all of you.

Also - in theory - once you dial in your Test Spot, you could buff the car out in pitch black and get great results because you're going to duplicate the process you proved in the Test Spot over and over again to the entire car. If your Test Spot process fixed the paint to your satisfaction, then repeating the process to each next section should fix the paint to your satisfaction - thus no need for a light on the tool - just dial in your test spot and then as I teach -

Count your section passes out loud

Same things applies to the color you paint the walls in your shop or garage, whether they are black, white or PINK! LOL

I think it just depends on your buffing style and what you’re working on. I wouldn’t discount it yet.

Just cuz it doesn’t appeal to me makes it bad. Just a personal opinion.
