LIVE Detailing Class - Ultimate Buffing Pad Review - Wednesday November 27th 2024

This Wednesday we're going to take a look at a large collection of buffing pads, and I'll be sharing my thoughts and experience with all these pads plus some interesting history on buffing pads.

Here's the first foam pad introduced in 1965 - The Wooless Wonder

As you can see, 60 YEARS if aging has taken its toll on the foam component, which was originally a bright, canary yellow.

This original foam pad from 1965 is now on display at the American Muscle Car Museum , which I'm teaching a 2-day car detailing class at along with Jason Rose from RUPES on Friday May 2nd and Saturday, May 3rd.

Will be glued to YouTube!

:)

That was outstanding, Mike, great history and great overview of current pad selections, although now that I'm thinking about it, you left a couple out, doesn't CarPro have a couple of specialty pads? And Koch Chemie which seems to be the current German darling, has a line of pads now where the velcro color is matched to a color on the polish bottle.

Sorry, I'm nit-picking. That was a great presentation, and I'll look forward to the book your wife wants you to write.

PS I have one of those Swirlbuster pads from when David B. was selling them, along with his Sonus Swirlbuster polish. Maybe they had a thicker one, but mine only measures about 1-7/8 thick, it will fit on my Flex so I'm going to use it some time. Last time I used it was probably over 15 years ago on my non-XP PC.
