Looks like a disaster exterior detail is my project for the week. This vehicle has sat outside under trees for so many years and now the owner is asking for a small miracle. Surface beside being just grime ridden is showing micro cracking that I assume is a form of clear coat failure.

Question: Has anyone tried the Meguiar's #7 product on a clear coated car to help add something to damaged exterior and act as a filler?

This is so bad I might have to clean with Comet to remove that first layer of grime. Surprised that the side panels are looking almost clean except that top edge that rolls up flat to the sun and sky.

Will try to please but have warned the customer that it is likely beyond 'detailing' and ready for the paint booth.

Just update anyone reading this after the first post. I ended up going aggressive but tried Comet and was working but a slow method. Tried the kitchen Soft Scrub product and it work better with a bug sponge or the Stoner Wheel Cleaner Pad. One thing on the black scum found on the top, a Orange Citrus based cleaner did amazing at breaking it down!

I used the 303 compound (510) and polish (520) in two steps and then for the final wax on the hood tried the POXY wax to try on the hood with all the engine bay heat. It worked just nicely as you can see in the final photos. Paint was still suffering from cracking but was at least a blue color and owner was pleased.
