Questions about buffing pads for correcting/polishing by machine and hand

Sounds like clearcoat failure to me.

At this point, no real benefit to polish by hand. Just light polish by machine and seal the paint. Try to keep the car clean and out of the sun and rain..

Thanks for the advice! Yes, I'll do a little bit of polishing and then apply a ceramic coating. I was able to convince my mom to clear out her garage, so this car will park in her garage from now on.

My mom feels I'm wasting my time and money on fixing her car, as she believes it will break down soon. But this car has sentimental value for me--every time I visit my mom and see the car, it brings back memories, so I want to take care of it as much as I can. :)

Nobel sentiment. Plus, if she ever wants to sell or trade it in, having it detailed and looking its best can't hurt.
