Review: FLEX 24V Cordless Rotary Polisher

Here's an unboxing video plus battery torture testing

I am very curious about the longevity of these new 24v tools. One thing to note from my little bit of research. The red FLEX cordless tools country of Origin is Germany. Where as the new version is China. I do like the warranty that FLEX is offering with the new line, limited lifetime over 1 year, for the German variant.

Overall, the tools seems like it was pleasant to use compared to the RED variety. Between the 2 it appears the 24v 5ah round cell battery seems a little bigger then the 18v 5ah. Did you notice any difference?

I'm curious how the pouch cell battery will perform as well. I have some of the DeWalt pouch cell batteries and there is a noticeable performance increase.

I get asked about the batteries, and the battery technology and one thing I share is that FLEX is owned by Chervon and Chervon also owns EGO Power Tools. Thus, FLEX benefits because they are able to use battery technology created by EGO. I'm not an expert at all the different brands of battery technology, but I think it's fair to say, EGO is one of the best brands for battery technology.

So FLEX has great battery technology and everyone else? What would be interesting, is to swap any other brand of battery into the FLEX tools and do benchmark torture testing and thus find out who reallly has teh best battery technology. But just to note, even if and when some type of adapter is available, someone else will have to do this type of testing, I simply don't have the time.

What I like to do is go with a brand I trust.

Each morning when I arrive to the shop, the first thing I do is answer all the experts and their comments on the Dr. Beasley's YouTube channel. This morning, I had two people ask me about where the tools are NOW manufactured.

Here's the video,

Here's my answers.

@johnparkerzabala
Sir is it China or German made? Thanks

I was told that Chervon, the owner of FLEX, SKILL and EGO, will be moving production of FLEX tools to China. Me? I blame NAFTA as the root cause for jobs leaving anywhere and going to China.

Not made in China , an automatic win and know it will be great

At the big SEMA show just a few weeks ago as I type today on Monday, November 18th, I was told that Chervon, the owner of FLEX, SKILL and EGO, will be moving production of FLEX tools to China. Me? I blame NAFTA as the root cause for jobs leaving anywhere and going to China.

It's sad to hear that all the factory workers at FLEX in Germany will be losing their jobs to workers in China. I used to despise Chine for copying, stealing other companies and other countries technology and innovation, but nowadays, I hold Bill Clinton and the Republicans (RINOS), and Democrats that voted for and passed NAFTA. It was our own people that sold us out. China just takes advantage of others weakness.

Yes. My observation is the 24 volt battery technology offes more power and maintains the same power over the running cycle of the battery. By this I mean, with the old 18 volt technology, as you run the tool and thus as the battery drains, the tools power drops off.

With the 24 volt technology, the tools runs at the same power level with a full charge until the battery is out of charge, there's no or little noticeable drop-off. I share a TON of info about this new 24-volt battery technology in the article I linked to above. So, no use copying and pasting here.

Like the old cliche, time will tell.

Thank you. I put a lot of time and energy into doing the work, (I actually detailed the 1970 Pontiac from start to finish), taking the pictures, capturing video and then writing the article, so much appreciated.
