I have met some really great people while fixing and upgrading my car.I have been Watching Jay Leon's Garage with my Dad who is in his 90,s he remembers the classic cars!

I didn't realize how finicky Black paint is!

It's not that it's any more finicky than other paints - it's just that it shows everything better than other colors. I wrote an article about this YEARS ago and all of the back cars in the article are cars I've personally detailed.

For the most part, the detailing world is filled with hard working, honest people with strong work ethics - always willing to help others. Of course, there are exceptions to the rule.

I did a lot of product reviews for the Jay Leno line of products when they were first introduced. Here's an example.


Jay Leno Garage All-Metal Polish - Review by Mike Phillips

I would NOT use or review any of their polishes, compounds or all-in-ones because my testing showed these products used inferior abrasive technology and left micro-marring on back paint. As a professional courtesy to Jay Leno, I let his product manager know about my results and they never returned a reply to my email.

All of the other products seem to work as advertised.
