Why is it so hard to find out the right pad/compound combo when you are new to da polishing. Thank

Three routes to take:

  1. Start from widely used combinations and slowly experiment with other well respected combinations. Skip the social media/influencer hype junk.
  2. Use one line of "high-end" pads and depending on paint or situation test multiple polishes & compounds without switching pads.
  3. The inverse of #2. Pick one brand of polishes and test multiple different types / makes of pads.

Don't try to reinvent the wheel. Use what works well, try out something else that works well, and after a while you should have enough variety to experiment.

Just asking: as as beginners would it be best for me to try widely used combinations first or do something different. Thanks

What are you working on?

As in,

  • Your daily driver?
  • Aa toy in the garage?
  • Wife's grocery getter?

What are you trying to accomplish?

As in,

  • Simply maintain your daily drivers?
  • Remove the swirls out of a black 1967 Chevelle?
  • Prepping an older vehicle for ceramic coating?

Working on maintaining daily drive. Also just wanted to know how people like you Mike know what polish or compound goes with what pad. Also do certain brands work well with other brands. Thanks

The manner in which I know what to use and how to use it comes from decades of expereince.

I crammed decades of expereince into the below video. This video gets MORE positive comments than any of our other videos and LOTS of them.

Of course there are the experts that make comments like,

"You talk to much"

But you cannot fix stupid.

Watch it from start to finish as I not only answer your questions, but I do a very in-depth BRAIN DUMP in this single video.

Then watch the below two videos as they are follow-up videos to the above.
