1970 Plymouth Satellite Convertible - Training Car - 1-Step Ceramic AIO Paint Correction - Mike Phillips

Here's the car arriving to the Dr. Beaslye's Training Center

1970 Plymouth Satellite Convertible
When the car arrived around noon, I took a few pictures with the sun high overhead to show the swirl level.

The below picture is a close-up of the same section shown above. You can easily see the swirls and scratches in the light blue metallic paint.

Moving over to the passenger side of the hood, here's a far shot, next I'll take a close-up.

BOOM! Holograms!
The wispy looking lines running side-to-side, are the tale-tale sign of holograms. This means the last person to buff out this car likely used a rotary polisher with a wool pad as this is where holograms come from.

Original White Vinyl Top
The owner appreciates that most of this car is still factory orginal including the interior, engine and convertible top. The car has been repainted using a modern basecoat/clearcoat paint system.

As you can see in the pictures below, the top has turned yellow with age and built-up dirt, dust and traffic film. You can also see where I've cleaned a small section to test if the dirt build-up can be removed and if the vinyl under all the dirt can be restored to a bright white, factory looking appearance.

Looks much gooder to me!
Next we'll clean the entire top so after the class perfects the paint, then the paint will look bright and shiny, without any swirls or scratches and the white convertible top will be the finishing touch.

Class Topic - 1-Step Ceramic AIO Paint Correction
For this 3rd class session on the first day, the class will learn how to fix the paint on a car in a single step. Of course, you won't get the same results as doing a Show Car Detail, or a 2-Step Paint Correction detail job, but you can still achieve amazing results.

The BIG PICTURE goal for teaching this topic is for 2 reasons.

1: If you detail as a business, you need to have a minimum of 3 different packages you offer your customer. Some people will want a Show Car Detail package for their toy. Some people will want really good results, but don't want to pay top dollar for your Show Car Detail package, so the 2-Step package is your MID-RANGE package.

This 1-step detail is your Budget or entry level detail package. Thus you have three offerings, something for everyone.

2: If you're a do-it-yourselfer, chances are good you want to take care of your car, but you don't what to do multiple-step paint correction. For daily drivers, doing a 1-Step Ceramic AIO paint correction process is a GREAT way to maintain your vehicle.

The other car the class will be learning how to do a 1-step Ceramic AIO paint correction process to, will be the 1949 Ford Club Coupe.

More pics to come when the car arrives.
