2023 Ford F150 King Ranch interior

Recently purchased a new King Ranch.
There are lots of discussion on forums about the old King Ranch Leather as it was un coated (it was more like a horse saddle) but the new leather is coated. Ford still recommends that you use King Rang Leather conditoner.
I would think any good quality leather product should work. Thoughts?

Also the interior has Wood Trim pieces. Do I need to treat these with anything? OR Not treat or keep cleaners off of them? The manual doesn't get into these pieces as to cleaning. Are regular interior vinyl/plastic cleaners and protectants fine like 303 or from 3D? I actually thought about using Meguiars as they used to do furniture polishes and had a wood finish system to use on Wood Doors and cabinetry. Though I have not seen it on the market in a number of years.

I think the nutshell version of why Ford discontinued the rough and tough looking original ANILINE leather is simply because they had too many customer relation disasters due to the average car/truck owner NOT knowing what to use or how to correctly clean and maintain this type of leather. So they simply did away with it and dumbed it down for future customers. Sounds about right. KISS - Keep it Simple Simon.

As for the wood trim pieces? I haven't seen the interior of a new Ford King Ranch, but next time I'm around one of these trucks I'll take a peak.

My guess is - if it's real wood, then it's likely "sealed" with something, lacquer, urethane, IE. something. I did a quick Skynet search and found this,

My `15 KR brochure states that the wood trim is genuine Khaya wood interior accents, which is an African Mahogany. Don`t know why they could not use American wood

My own thoughts would be, if the real wood is not sealed with some type of sealer/paint, then it's likely treated with some type of oil common to furniture cleaning and polishing. Just a guess.

I have a 2018 KR F150 so doubt you will have any trouble finding products for the interior cleaning and protection.
Key to keeping it great is use an interior cleaning product and leather cleaner first and frequently. Not sure if they really are wood but any wood inside the cab is going to be finished so just keep them cleaned, even a rinse less solution on a damp MF towel is all you need to do.

I am enjoying the new truck. Though its like driving a computer down the road. The leather seats are comfortable. Feels like they have a memory type foam under the leather.
So far I have been using just a damp cloth on the wood to keep clean and a little diluted 303 interior cleaner as needed. I talked to a friend that does wood work and said the wood has a finish on it and to not use any harsh cleaners as that could dull the finish and break it down. He said the harsh cleaners will make it feel sticky.

For the Leather it has a coating, not like their early King Ranches leather. I did use the king ranch leather products on it as I wanted to see what was special about them. Basically nothing though my wife said it brought out the leather smell ( a good thing). She didn't like the smell of the griots I used in her car.

Used 303 interior on the vinyl/plastic pieces. Always open to using something different on the interior. 303 doesn't have a any real odor that I notice and leaves a matt finish. not all shiny.
