Holograms and Swirls make this 1965 Corvette look UGLY

This will one of the first cars you train on first thing Saturday morning. You will start out using a wool pad on a rotary polisher to cut the finish to remove the holograms, swirls, scratches and oxidation. Then you'll switch over to gear-driven polishers to create a true show car finish.

After you learn how to use rotary polishers on the above 1965 Corvette, for the next topic, we're going to lean hard into GEAR-DRIVEN orbital polishers. This is a super cool muscle car, but the paint needs a thorough compounding and polishing to perfect it followed by installing a ceramic coating.

Here's some pictures showing the current condition of the Cuda.

Keep in mind...
The skills you'll learn training on this iconic MOPAR Muscle Car are the same skill you will use to buff out a Ford Fusion or a Toyota Camry, or any modern car. It's just more fun to train on something that's cool versus a mundane daily driver. Just my opinion. :)

This is 1 of 8 Training Cars for this upcoming class.

The hood was the only body panels without holograms but it still has swirls and some type of bonded contaminants on the paint that will need to be removed via claying.

NO DEMO HOODS - NO TEST PANELS - NO RENTAL CARS
At our classes, you get to train on the real-deal, so do your research before taking any class. Look to see if the actually show you the cars you'll be training on. Usually there's nothing.

How to Remove Orange Peel
Custom cars get custom paint jobs and this usualy means the fresh paint job has orange peel. In order to create a true show car finish, you must flatten the orange peel via sanding. In our classes, you learn the two most important styles for sanding.

  1. Wetsanding by hand
  2. Machine dry sanding

After sanding, then we switch over to rotary polishers and build on the skills and experience you obtained Saturday where you started your day learning how to use a rotary polisher on a 1965 Corvette. (no class matches our class). For this topic you'll be sanding and buffing a 1932 Ford Roadster Streetrod.
