Flex FC3321-Z vs Rupes LHR15 Mark V

I've been waiting to pull the trigger on a quality polisher, the Porter cable vibration kills my hand with vibration and the arthritis does not help.

The new Flex is brushless which is a nice upgrade but I have yet to see any head to head comparison or videos from people who have tested and used both.

I'm looking for first hand experience from those who have used both, not theoretical but actually used both polishers.

Which has less vibration?

Which is more comfortable for long term duration use?

I have both of these tools in our shop for our classes. I rarely/never use them but I can revisit both of them and tell you if there's any or much of a difference.

From memory, they both operate and feel the same but I'll revisit.

And you're considering either tool in CORDED options? Not battery powered options?

That would be extremely helpful in making a decision on which unit to purchase.

Yes both tools are corded looking for the corded Flex or Rupes based on which ever unit has less vibration. Hard to really quantify as most people don't have much experience with the new flex unit or have tested both.

Hi Al,

Apogies, but the next time I'll be able to compare both tools will be next week. The only car I have in the shop that I can run a polisher over is already done. By done, I mean DONE! I can't run a polisher over it as that will remove the ceramic coating.

I'm writing two new car detailing books so I'm already behind on a hot deadline. That said, I will test out both tools and tell you what I think. To be honest, I don't think there's a huge difference in vibration between the two tools but I'll revisit.
