I am looking at the many new kits that seem to have a chemical to help clear up headlights. Mike's past classes have made me comfortable using sandpaper method or just an aggressive polish for cleaning them up. I want to try these new kits from Griots Garage or Autogeek or perhaps from Cerakote or Adam's.

Has anyone on this forum tried any of them yet?

I've used 2 of these kits where there's some form of chemical wipe that dissolves the dead, oxidized, yellowed plastic followed by a second product that "seals"' the plastic.

Do they work? Yes.

Can the average person get pro results their first time? I'd say probably not. I found them to be a tick tricky.

If you want perfect looking clear headlights, stick with compounding or sanding followed by compounding and then something for a sealer.

Thanks Mike for the insight. I went ahead and ordered a kit of GG and the AG Diamondite. This way I can compare the results of each and be able to give my review on those kit results. I watched the GG video by Sam B. and it seems simple but that kit included the sanding items. The problem with that kit is the sanding stops at 3000 and then the coating. I will try to document the various results and share them within the forum.

Thanks for the reply, when Mike Phillips says 'tick tricky' that says it all for me!

I forgot that Griot's switched to "wipes" and discontinued the aerosol spray sealer. I'm an expert at using a Rattle Can and even I had a tough time spraying the sealer without getting any runs or sags as well as leaving crystal clear results.

I think in the big picture, whether or not a person will be happy comes down to how picky they are about the final visual appearance results.

The above all said, I have not used everything on the market and it's totally possible there are great options available.

Megs makes a nice kit. Amazon has lots of starter packs too. Stock up on Trizact Brand Paper as it does produce better results. Rolite polishes are great too. Seal them up with Meg's Spray on Coating.

Nice results, which megs kit would you recommend? Its seems megs makes 3 kits...g2960,g2970,g2980.

I was also going to look for some ppf that i could apply over top the lens as all our vehicles sit outside, and no aftermarket headlights ive tried fit as well as factory.
