🛡️ Step 6: Ceramic Protection—for BOTH Paint Finishes!

With the sanding and polishing completed, the class installed Dr. Beasley’s Nano-Resin 2.0 on the glossy purple paint of our 1969 Plymouth Roadrunner.

I didn’t capture pictures of that application, but I did photograph Christyan, lead instructor at Dr. Beasley’s corporate office in Chicago, Illinois, teaching the class how to install Dr. Beasley’s Matte Paint Coating. 📸

💧 First, Christyan lightly mists distilled water onto the matte paint. He then applies the coating with a foam applicator and gently removes the excess with a clean microfiber towel.

The matte black sections on the hood and tops of the front fenders receive their own dedicated coating to protect the finish while preserving its matte appearance.

Glossy purple. Matte black. Each finish gets the care and protection it needs! 😎

✨ Next up: the FINAL RESULTS!

🏁 FINAL RESULTS—1969 Plymouth Roadrunner! 🏁

Six steps. A whole lot of focused work. And THIS is the result! 😎✨

From orange peel and distorted reflections to deep purple gloss, crisp reflections, and ceramic protection—while preserving and protecting the matte black paint on the hood and fender tops.

🛠️ The class completed the entire process:

1️⃣ Hand sanding
2️⃣ Machine dry sanding
3️⃣ Rotary compounding with wool cutting pads
4️⃣ Gear-driven orbital polishing
5️⃣ Final show car polishing
6️⃣ Ceramic coating for both the glossy and matte finishes

📸 I call these the most DOCUMENTED and most HANDS-ON car detailing classes on planet Earth—and this photo series shows you why!

You’ve seen the BEFORE condition, the students doing the work, every major step, and now the FINAL RESULTS.

💪 Real cars. Real paint defects. Real responsibility. No demo hoods!

A huge thank-you to the class for their focus and hard work—and to the owner for trusting us with this seriously cool muscle car! 👏

Freaking Amazing Work Everyone!

Mike

Mike, why are the wheels/tires covered? I see this on the 2-step/rotary polishing pics as well.

Good question. There's two primary reasons.

1: Anytime you're using a rotary polisher extensively - that is using it a lot, not a spot repair, you'll have a tendency to sling product splatter. The Wheel Maskers simply prevent any splatter from being slung onto the wheels and tires.

2: When marketing your skills and abilities with before and after pictures, the goal for the BEFORE picture is to make the car look ugly. The idea being to make the car look as dramatically as neglected or in dire need of help. Then after all the work is finished, you remove the Wheel Maskers and any other thing that is covering or protecting surfaces on the car and take your AFTER pictures. Now you have a very stark or dramatic set of before and after pictures.
