Hi Mike,
How to deal with Supersoft factory paint. I am detailing a Honda crv black with very soft and sticky paint. I took measurements and paint hasn't been polished before. But have severe scratches and holograms. I started with a green rupes pad the old one and coarse compound and tried first to attack a small section and see how it reacts. And after 10 seconds of polishing with good pressure with my pixxie I ve burnt through the clear coat 😅. It's a tiny spot I will correct it but , I think I must proceed with something fine. What's a good combo and technique for such paints.
Thank you

Does the customer want the paint ceramic coated?

If not - use 3D SPEED with either a foam polishing or foam finishing pad and then top with 3D Bead It Up, which is a polymer coating.

Great combo for soft paint.

yes he wants ceramic coating. but he left it on me. he told me , me to decide what to do.

This is always a tough type of paint to ceramic coat because it scratches easily, it's difficult to prep the paint with a panel wipe without marring the paint at the same time.

I would offer this suggestion, machine correct the paint with 3D SPEED and then top the paint with 3D Bead It Up.

Bead It Up is a POLYMER coating that also makes the paint very slippery. This slippery factor will help reduce accidental scratching. PLUS the owner can maintain the car with the same product.

I show and sell all my customers Bead It Up as a courtesy to them. It requires little to no skill to use and it will maintain the results I've created. AND, they need to do something correct?

3D Bead it Up - Do yourself a huge favor and purchase by the gallon

The spray head I recommend in the article does a great job of atomizing the Bead It Up because AFTER you detail it - it only takes a fine mist of product onto each panel to coat the panel and make it slippery.
