Hello Mike and forum members,
While looking forward to getting brand new tires next week, would I need to scrub them first before applying a tire coating or just give them a gentle bristle brush cleaning before applying the tire coating? Thank you, appreciate the advice.

Yes.

Tires come out of a mold that has a mold release agent.

If it were me?

I would wash the tires thoroughly after they are installed on your vehicle. Then I would drive the vehicles for 30 days or so as this will enable the rubber sidewall to flex and hopefully any extraneous mold release or any other chemicals to migrate out and off the rubber and even outgas.

Then I would machine scrub the hell out of them until your tire cleaner is created white foam on the sidewall.

Then I would apply the tire coating.

Apologies for the delay in answering, I'm currently in Chicago starting the 4th day of a 5 day class.
