Rupes Mark V vs Flex XFE7-15

I'm looking at purchasing a corded polisher. I've not seen any reviews comparing the two models. I know the Rupes is newer but there is also some issues I don't want to deal with in the price point.

Looking at comparisons for sound, vibration, etc

Was really hoping Flex would have a more modern version of this corded polisher but they have not updated it. The Rupes issues (backing, poly gears, washer mod and warranty issues) just don't appeal to me.

Looking for feedback from those who have used both and can provide objective feedback.

Speak of the Devil, I just had 4 boxes arrive from FLEX. These are the brand new CORDED versions for the rotary polisher, BEAST and Finisher. The Finisher is their 15mm free spinning, long-stroke, random orbital polishers - the tool you're comparing to the RUPES BigFoot 15mm Mark V - which I also have all the brand new Mark V polishers.

Stay tuned as I'll be unboxing these and then using them to buff out the 1960 Corvette you see in the background after I do a full wetsand to remove the orange peel.

I don't mind waiting if these are a new model coming out in Dec or sooner. If you post a video please paste the link in here for myself and anyone else looking for this new model. Hopefully they are production models soon to be released.

I don't have time to get the model numbers, but these are PRODUCTION units.

I rarely use free spinning, random orbital polishes as they are simply too slow for my style of detialing. The exception would be working on soft paint as a free spinning, random orbital polisher will tend to finish out nicer on softer paints versus any brand of gear-driven orbital polishers.

As such, I simply don't use either the RUPES or the FLEX long strokes very often. And when I do use a free spinning, a lot of the time, I'll use a Porter Cable 7424XP or the Griot's Garage G9
