Top side detailing
For the top side and all the smooth white gelcoat surfaces, we used the Dr. Beasley’s NSP Z1. Z1 is an AIO or All-in-One. It removes oxidation, restores gloss and shine and leaves behind a layer of ceramic protection in a single step.

Here's Jhonathan using Z1 on the stern portion of the top cap

Nothing exciting on the Port side to reflect in the ceramic coated gelcoat finish except the tool tables, cabinets and workbench - but I think you'll get the idea. The clas created a MIRROR shine finish on what previously was an extremely oxidized and salt water-stained gelcoat finish.

Upcoming classes

We have published our schedule for detailing classes in the United States for 2024. If you find you're the type of person that learns better by doing than sitting in a chair. I STRONGLY urge you to do your own research. Try to find even a handful of pictures from other classes that SHOW YOU - what you're going to get to do if you take some other class. I've already looked. There's virtually nothing to see. Most of what you can find are people sitting in chairs while someone is talking and a PowerPoint slide on the wall behind them. Or you might find a picture or two of the class standing around a demo hood as the instructor performs a demonstration. If you're lucky, you might get to work on the demo hood.

The real-deal
When you take any of our classes, you're going to be on your feet, using your mind and your hands, training on the real-deal as the pictures shared here document. So do your research and when you realize we are the best game in town, the click the link below to find a class that suits your needs and get signed up!

Click here to find dates and locations for upcoming Dr. Beasley's Future of Detailing Classes!

I hope to see YOU at a future class!

These are the MOST hands-on detailing classes on planet Earth. We are the only detailing class that shares an incredibly in-depth course outline showing what YOU will be doing.

There are no chairs. No sitting. No boring PowerPoint presentation. Instead you train on the real-deal, real cars and actually cool cars and real boats - HUGE boats in horrible condition so you will learn the MOST for your time and money.

3-Day Course Outline

Sunday – Extreme Boat Detailing – Machine Wet Sanding plus Rotary Polishers/Orbital Polishers/Ceramic Coatings.

Plus tons of other topics covered throughout the 3 days including, Extreme Prep Wash, Engine Detailing, Topical Glass Polishing, Sub-surface Glass Polishing, Convertible Canvas Cloth & Vinyl Top Cleaning and Protecting, Wheels & Tires, etc.

In-depth version – 3-Day Class Description

Friday Morning – Multiple-Step or Show Car Detailing

In this class students will learn how to take a trashed and hacked-up car’s finish to its maximum potential! For this first, you will start the day learning how to use a rotary polisher on severely neglected paint!

How to do a proper PREP waterless wash

Just like there are two types of normal wash styles, there are two types of styles for doing a waterless wash, Prep Waterless Wash and Maintenance Waterless Wash.

Visual Paint inspection – Topics covered,
  • How to identify various paint defects and determine if they can be safely fixed or not.
  • Why inspect vehicle for previous damage and document it on the Vehicle Inspection Form/App.
  • How to inspect windshields for sub-surface defects like wiper marks, swirls, and scratches.
  • How to inspect for clearcoat failure or other unfix-able paint issues.
  • How to inspect for defective parts or components including side mirrors, antennas, mud flaps, etc. document and notify the owner.

Tactical Paint Inspection
Students will learn how to correctly inspect for contamination using the Baggie Test, as well as the correct way to show customers the level of paint contamination on their vehicle.

Mechanical decontamination
Unless a car is brand spanking new, most car are going to have some level of bonded contamination on the exterior surfaces. This session covers how to remove the contamination and why you simply cannot count on machine polishing to remove contaminants.

Paint Thickness Gauges
Students will learn how to use a PTG to determine the thickness or thinness of the paint and how to safely proceed to the next steps.

Tape-off and Cover-up – students will learn which types of materials or areas should be covered and protected from machine buffing and product splatter.

How to do a Test Spot – The single most important thing you should do before any paint correction on anything is to do a proper Test Spot. The importance and value of doing a proper Test Spot is explained in detail. How and where to perform a Test Spot is taught in detail as well as how to inspect the results. How to dial-in the paint correction process is taught based upon results from Test Spot.

How to correctly use a Swirl Finder Light
Quality inspection lights are necessary throughout the detail process.

How to use a panel wipe to inspect for accurate and true paint correction.
Polishing oils, fillers, waxes, and other ingredients can give a false appearance causing you to think the defects are removed. We show how to use a panel wipe to obtain true and accurate results.

Paint Correction

How to correctly use a rotary polisher

This is the most powerful tool when it comes to doing paint correction. Correctly used it’s like a scalpel in the hands of a world-renowned surgeon. Improperly used and you can get into trouble real fast. In this first session covering the rotary polisher, you’ll learn foundational skills that you’ll build on over the course of the rest of the day as well as Saturday and Sunday.

How to use an orbital polisher
Orbital polishers are safe and effective, and you’ll learn all the correct techniques to maximize your time while consistently achieving pro quality results.

Installing a Ceramic Coating

How to use a panel wipe

A panel wipe is a solvent used to prep paint for installing a ceramic or graphene coating. In this class session, you’ll learn a 2-step approach to ensure the surface is surgically clean for maximum bonding, longevity, and performance for any coating you install.

How to install a ceramic coating
Coatings are truly the best way to protect your paint when it comes to protection, longevity, and insane gloss! In this class session, you’ll learn how to correctly install ceramic coatings and how to avoid the hassles of high spots.

Finishing touches
  • Cleaning interior glass.
  • Using glass coating.
  • Restoring and protecting exterior plastic trim.
  • Polishing metal surfaces.
  • When and how to use tire dressings and/or tire coatings.
  • Coating and protecting wheels.
  • Detailing door, hood, trunk, and hatchback jambs.
  • Cleaning and conditioning rubber door and hatchback gaskets.

Friday Afternoon: 1-step paint correction & ceramic coatings

  • How to do a proper prep waterless wash.
  • Visual paint inspection.
  • Tactical paint inspection.
  • Mechanical decontamination.
  • How to set your own or your customer’s expectations for a one-step paint correction.
  • Choosing and using the right NSP Primer.
  • How to use and master gear-driven orbital polishers to reduce time and maximize paint correction results.
  • Topical glass polishing.
  • How to use a panel wipe to prep paint for a ceramic coating.
  • How to install a ceramic coating.
  • Finishing touches.

Topical glass polishing
All cars that go through our detailing class courses, automatically have all the glass polished via topical glass polishing. This is done during the Extreme Prep Wash session on Saturday morning as well as during any paint correction sessions.

Sub-Surface Glass Polishing
Each car detailed will be inspected to see if any of the glass needs sub-surface glass polishing and if so, scheduled during the course of the 3-day class.

Saturday: Extreme Prep Wash, Machine Dry Sanding and One-step paint correction

Morning session - Extreme Prep Washing
A surgically clean car is the foundation for the final results, in this session you’ll learn,

Pre-Prep Wash Inspection – check for road tar (important).
  • Headlight correction.
  • Wet wash engine detail.
  • Topical Glass Polishing.
  • Correct Canvas and Vinyl Top Cleaning.
  • Proper wheels and tire cleaning.
  • Chemical decontamination.
  • Foam cannons & foam guns.
  • One-bucket wash method vs two-bucket wash method.
  • Mechanical decontamination.

Mid-Morning Session - Machine Dry Sanding
How to machine sand custom paint to remove orange peel, dirt nibs and other surface texture to create a true show car finish on custom paint jobs

The highest skill and knowledge base most detailers strive to possess is how to carefully sand flat a custom paint job to remove orange peel and create a true show car finish with maximum D.O.I. or Distinction of Image.

Sanding paint
99.9% of the people on Earth should never sand paint. But for the 1% that have the desire to learn how to do it and do it right, this is the class for you. The ability and know-how to sand paint sets you apart from the rest of all the me-too detailers. Just being able to talk intelligently about it after gaining firsthand, real-world experience is worth the price of the class.

Overview
This class covers four different sanding techniques to level orange peel and other surface textures for creating a true show car finish with 100% D.O.I. as the goal.

D.O.I. = Distinction of Image
The goal when creating a true show car finish is to level the paint as flat as possible using sanding techniques and then after sanding, removing the sanding marks to restore a clear, high gloss shine.

Techniques covered,
  • How to machine sand paint flat using 6” and 3” sanders.
  • The proper use of rotary polishers, wool cutting pads to remove 100% of the sanding marks.
  • How to use orbital polishers with foam pads to finish out hologram and swirl free finish.
  • How to seal the paint using either a wax, paint sealant or ceramic coating.

Real cars – No demo hoods
Our classes are known for bringing in the real deal, that is instead of teaching you how to sand and buff on a demo hood, we bring in the coolest cars with fresh custom paint jobs and loads of orange peel for a truly authentic learning experience. Anyone can sand a section about the size of a microfiber towel on a flat panel waist high, learning how to tackle a real car is what’s really valuable and has IMPACT!

Dual Action Orbital Sanders
After doing a prep wash and any needed mechanical decontamination, students will learn how to use the Eagle Abrasives by KOVAX dry sanding system with 6” and 3” orbital sanders.

Rotary Polishers
After sanding the paint flat, students will draw from the foundational skills learned on Friday, like how to use a rotary polisher with an NSP Primer and a wool pad to remove 100% of the sanding marks without making mistakes.

Orbital Polishers
After removing all the sanding marks, next you’ll remove any holograms in the paint using orbital polisher and foam pads with NSP Primers. This step will maximize gloss and clarity while perfectly preparing the paint for installation of Dr. Beasley’s ceramic coatings.

Saturday late Afternoon session – 1-step paint correction using AIOs
This is a foundational skill everyone car owner should possess, and every professional should offer in their detailing business. This skill applies to anything with wheels, floats, or flies. The cars used for this training sessions will be the car used for the Extreme Prep Wash session earlier in the morning, thus these cars will be ready to work on without any washing or decontamination steps.
  • Tape-off and cover-up plastic and other sensitive areas.
  • Doing a Test Spot with an AIO.
  • Choosing the right pad for the paint hardness and/or softness and why this is so important.
  • How to turn the FLEX BEAST, Supa BEAST or CBEAST into a time-saving, brain saving, energy saving, money making machine.
  • How and why to top an AIO.
  • How to under promise and over deliver for customer’s expectations and dominate the competition.
  • Finishing touches.

Meet ‘N Greet Saturday Night!
There will be an informal Meet ‘N Greet at a local establishment to be announced depending upon location.

Sunday - Extreme Boat Detailing

Machine Wet Sanding - Oxidation Removal – Rotary Polishers – Orbital Polishers – Gelcoat Ceramic Coatings

Start time
Class starts at 7:30am SHARP and goes on until the boat is finished, usually around 4:00pm to 5:00pm.

Overview
This class covers how to take the worst condition boats and restore them to factory new condition and actually better than factory new condition. Most boats brand new from the factory come with holograms already in the gelcoat finish. By using neglected gelcoat boats we are able to teach you every aspect of boat detailing. After taking the class you’ll be able to inspect a boat, determine which steps are needed to remove the oxidation in the fastest and most effective way and then install the Dr. Beasley's Marine Boat Coat Ceramic Coating to restore a show car finish to a boat.

Here’s what’s covered in this one-day boat detailing class,
  • Boat washing inside and outside.
  • How to clean non-skid surfaces to remove mold, mildew, and oxidation.
  • How to clean vinyl seats and other vinyl surfaces while safely removing mold and mildew.
  • Metal polishing and sealing.
  • Plexiglass, Isinglass, plastic window polishing and ceramic coating.
  • Top cap detailing – removing oxidation and sealing with a gelcoat ceramic coating.
  • Exterior hull detailing – how to machine wet sand to remove deep oxidation.
  • Rotary polisher techniques – how to remove your sanding marks and/or deep oxidation.
  • Orbital polisher techniques – how to remove holograms and polish gelcoat to a high gloss.
  • How to use a gelcoat panel wipe to prep the gelcoat for a ceramic coating.
  • How to install a gelcoat ceramic coating and add additional layers.

Real boats in real bad condition
In this class students will learn and train on large, neglected center console boats. We purposefully track down and obtain large center console, dark-colored gelcoat boats that have turned visibly white with oxidation.

The reason for using extremely neglected boats is because they provide the ability to teach the MOST techniques. If we were to bring in a new boat with shiny gelcoat, all we could teach you is how to wash it and apply a spray wax. After the student has taken this class, they will possess the greatest knowledge base and the widest skill set to enable them to detail any condition boat from horribly neglected to brand spanking new. The class is solely set up for the students’ benefit so they can learn the most in a single day class.

Certification Award Ceremony
At the end of Sunday, you’re going to be tired! You’re also going to be among the elite in the world that have now made it through to the end of the 3rd day of the Dr. Beasley’s Future of Detailing, BIG 3-Day Detailing Classes! Your reward is the coveted certificate, signed by Mike Phillips that tells the world you survived and even thrived throughout the 3-day class.
